Kia & Terry: The Wedding

Reserve a flight (soon for best deals)

Once you have the passport squared away, or even before you start the process, you can book your flight. Remember, the quicker you get to it, the better deal you'll find. Keep an eye on price fluctuations for a few days; you may want to hold out. Kia is great for advice on that.
Dennis (Terry's father) was the first to reserve his flight.
Departure: 1/16/08, 7:00am (Layover in ATL
Arrival: 1:45pm
Via: Delta Airlines
Kayak.com - compares a lot of airline prices
Priceline.com - Obey William Shatner and bid to name your own price
Spirit Air and Frontier are opening routes to SJO. Be sure to check their sites for introductory fares.
In case you don't find an inexpensive flight with an airline you know, here are our experiences: Kia has had nothing but great experience with (Grupo) Taca. Terry flew with Copa, because the flight was cheaper for that trip. Copa is still the better option, but both will take care of you.
Try to arrive late morning or early afternoon on the 16th of January. We will do our best to have at least one of us at the airport to meet you. If that is not possible, don't worry. There is a taxi booth in the airport before you exit outside. We will give you detailed directions to give them. You can pay in U. S. dollars and they will escort you outside to a regulated taxi to take you to the hotel. Regulated taxis mean regulated rates, so make sure to stop at that booth.

Arriving in Costa Rica

You will arrive in Costa Rica through Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO). It's the largest in the country, and very nice. Not only is it clean and modern, but they even offer free wireless, unlike most airports in the US. The itinerary calls for one night in San Jose to ensure that everyone is able to travel together from there. Once everyone has arrived, we will make our way to a hotel for the night. The next day, we'll be on the bus to Puerto Viejo.
Remember: we are going to do everything we can to ensure you have an easy, happy trip!
